Triple Split Backplane – hardware configuration

It’s just a heads up how to configure a P7 hardware, if you want to have a triple split backplane.

If you add an additional SAS controller (FC 5901) together with few special cables, you canĀ  split the internal disks in the system unit enclosure.

Remember to connect the cable FC 3679 to the top port of the SAS controller.

Otherwise, you need to restart the machine if the cable is wrongly connected.

  1. I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on
your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself?

Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.

    1. Appreciate your feedback, glad to read that people like the form, and style. It’s absolutely my private intiative, and I don’t work for IBM. I’m doing this, because I haven’t found anything similar for IBM i technology, while for AIX you have tons of blogs. Another reason is that I try to do something beyond, i dont want to only complain as others.

  2. I like the valuable information you provide in your articles.
I will bookmark your blog and check again here frequently.

I’m quite sure I will learn lots of new stuff right here!
    Good luck for the next!

  3. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of
this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance.
I must say you’ve done a amazing job with this.
Also, the blog loads super fast for me on Opera. Excellent Blog!
